Plumas Arts cultivating culture & community

Serumgard

A familiar face at the open mic portion of Words & Music, Serumgard will share songs that reflect his varied musical interests. From a small town in North Dakota, music was his life growing up. Throughout middle school and high school, he participated in concert band and jazz band in the percussion section. Concert band was more of a foundation that fueled the music he wanted to write.

He picked up a guitar when he was about 13 and started writing and playing rock tunes. Serumgard says, "Most of my high school career I was a rocker through and through, until I started to broaden my horizons and listened to all sorts of tunes from many different eras of time." Today, he plays more acoustic guitar and tend to lean towards more bluegrass tunes, reggae and alternative rock music.

He goes on to comment, "I've been living in Quincy for almost three years now, and have been attending FRC for the Outdoor Recreation Leadership program. I have a divine love for the outdoors, and as well for the community that Quincy as to offer."
