Words and Music offers a Love Song Challenge for the February 11th Words & Music, hosted at Patti's Thunder Café in Quincy AND at the Portola Words & Music on Friday, February 19th at the Williams House. A 2-song or 5-minute max will apply to all. Love poems are also welcome in addition to love songs. Roxanne Valladao, Executive Director of Plumas Arts, says, “This format always brings surprises, from the people who share their performances to the very personal definition of what a love song or poem is. There is the traditional romantic take on a love song, but I've also heard songs dedicated to a beloved pet, songs about family, even love songs for the Earth. It all comes back to what Plumas Arts is all about, which is the art of community.”

Doors open at 6:45pm and the all open-mic program starts at 7pm. Words and Music is sponsored by Plumas Arts and there is a three dollar entry charge at the door. Beverages are available for purchase. Admission is $3.
