The Plumas Arts Gallery, located at 525 Main Street in Quincy, will host a reception Friday, April 1, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for artist Amy Rose Moore, a gifted painter with a local connection.
Amy Rose Moore was born and raised in Westwood, California. The bulk of her artistic education took place at Westwood Jr. Sr. High, where she graduated in 2001. She currently lives and works in San Francisco, California.
Skillfully rendered in pencil, ink, and watercolor, Moore's work is playful and lighthearted. Photorealistic birds emit visual warbles of hearts and fish, while a wolf is circled by ethereal pale green butterflies. Threads of Moore's love of nature and her childhood in Plumas County run through all of her work. She says, "I am primarily influenced by the vast forests and mountains of my childhood. To grow up here is to have your heart and mind forever connected to these mountains. Home will always be felt and remembered by the sound of wind in the pines and the steady stream of birds’ songs wafting on a warm summer breeze up from the lake." |
