PLUMAS ARTS GALLERY SPARKLES THIS SEASON

The Plumas Arts Gallery will SPARKLE with the exhibition showcasing the work of Hannah Rose Miller. The show opens with a gallery reception Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Plumas Arts Gallery, 525 Main St. in Quincy from 5PM to 7PM. The artist's work will hang in the gallery through the end of December.

Hannah Rose Miller was born at home in Blackhawk, CA just outside of Quincy in May of 1979. Painting mostly in acrylic on canvas, she works to create beautiful and whimsical images that allow her audience to travel the lengths of her imagination.

Her recent works include decorated animals, farm and country scenes of her hometown as well as her current residence in Sonoma County, CA. near Sebastopol and Bodega Bay. Miller often shows at private galleries in the Bay Area as well as taking commissions on everything from dog portraits to murals.

Miller says, "I have always loved to paint, draw, create, and sculpt for as long as I can remember. My family is artistically inclined and I knew what I wanted to do/be at a very early age. I absolutely adore creating beautiful BRIGHT vivid images, wild colors and bold shapes that tickle the senses and imagination.

My newest works mirror my love of "warrior" horses, decorated animals, whimsical meadows, and country farm scenes done in acrylic on canvas.

I often begin a piece by creating a palette of colors and seeing what shapes take form, and going from there, finding that as I progress as an artist I focus less on the lines and more on colors, shapes, feelings.

I feel incredibly fortunate and grateful that I have the opportunity to do what I love everyday."

The gallery also features offerings by more that 60 local artists working in mediums from fine art to artisan crafts as well as pottery, jewelry, glass, wood and more. Hundreds of works are priced in a very accessible gift-giving range and several product lines will have special holiday discounts.

Make your holiday shopping meaningful in many ways by shopping local, purchasing one of a kind art items while supporting artists and Plumas Arts.

The gallery also offers movie passes and packages and the annual Plumas Arts 2014 Art & Literary Calendar featuring visual art and words by 25 local artists. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Friday from 11am to 5pm and Saturdays 11am to 4pm. The gallery will also be open Christmas Eve 11am to 4pm.
