Nature Sculptures Featured at Capitol Arts Gallery in June |

| Plumas Arts is bringing something very different and exciting art show to the Capitol Arts Gallery for the June exhibition. R. W. McBride multidiscipline visual artist and certified blacksmith will be the featured artist from neighboring Lassen County. The collection of McBride's work will include several large-scale (7 to 8 feet high) metal sculptures, wall mounted 3 dimensional metal works and smaller pedestal sculptures as well as oil paintings.
The public is invited to meet the artist at the Opening Reception on Friday June 7th from 5 to 7pm at the Capitol Art Gallery at 525 Main Street in Quincy. The exhibition will remain in the gallery through July and will be displayed in conjunction with the other 70+ Plumas Arts member artists working in a diversity of media in a full range of prices. |
| A multi-talented artist for over 45 years, R.W. McBride's goal as a painter & sculptor is to convey his love of nature through his art. His fondest memories of his childhood in Michigan were in the north woods, fishing for breakfast in the early morning mist, with eagles soaring overhead, communing with the bears, deer and raccoons in the wilderness. McBride knew as a child that he was put here to be an artist. Following his vision, McBride dedicated his life to the pursuit of honing his skills as an artist. |

R.W. McBride's unique sculptures and paintings are evidence of his love of nature. His tenacious desire to create has driven him to possibly the two most demanding mediumsin art today, hand carved stone and hand forged fabricated steel. McBride's sculptures range in size from pedestal to monumental. He creates one-of-a-kind interior and exterior sculptures for private, corporate and public commission as well as gallery pieces. |

R.W. McBride moved to Southern California in the mid 1960's and upon graduating from college in 1973, he worked in commercial art as a display director, store planning director and finally, an art director where he found his life lacking and unfulfilled. McBride left the corporate world andwent back to his fine art, married his wife Sharon and after the birth of their son Nick they movedto North Lake Tahoe, CA in 1980. In 1981 their daughter Christi was born and in 1986 they relocated2 hours north in the mountains of Lassen County, where they live today. McBride also works for community culture in his new home where he has served on the Lassen County Arts Council's board of directors for many years.
