Lori Boersig Exhibit at Plumas Arts Gallery |
Plumas Arts is proud to present the artwork of talented Plumas County artist Lori Boersig at our opening reception Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Plumas Arts Gallery, 525 Main St. in Quincy from 5PM to 7PM. |
Loretta Boersig is a watercolor artist. She has lived most of her life in this area of California and has loved to paint or draw since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Loretta says "I have always found a tranquil and captivating beauty in this area of the Sierra's. It is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of color, shape and form with its many mountains, lakes and trees. Watercolor is an ideal medium for me because it lends itself to the soft, subtle color I enjoy achieving in my paintings." |

Loretta is a self-taught artist, but feels that you are never too old to learn a new technique or method of painting. She is a longtime member of the Workshop for Plumas Artists(WPA), exhibits at several galleries in the area, and has donated art to various fund-raising events in the county. Loretta explains, "I feel that living in a small rural community is very much like going to a movie where each frame is a piece of art and you can't pick a favorite. I love the slow pace of the area and hope it is reflected in my paintings. I hope you enjoy your trip along my trail of rural Americana as much as I have enjoyed painting it." |
