Plumas Arts Member Show at Plumas Arts Gallery |
The Plumas Arts Gallery, located at 525 Main Street in Quincy, will host a reception Friday, September 4, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm to mark the opening of the Artist Member Group show. The exhibition will feature new work from Plumas Arts' remarkable group of artist members, including some of the recent prizewinners from the Plumas-Sierra County Fair Art Barn. |
"Plumas County is a creativity incubator!" says Gallery Director Lori Davis. "I am always amazed by the variety and quality of our artists' work. They bring me everything from watercolor paintings, photographs, and pastels to textiles, ceramics, and jewelry." She adds, "I'm especially excited to showcase the work of our County Fair prizewinners, if you didn't get into the Art Barn this year, come by and check them out." |

Rich and subtle watercolor is a hallmark of artist
Sylvia Smith's paintings, this one entitled "Survivor." |
Photographer Michael Beatley, who took a number of blue ribbons at the fair, will be exhibiting some new work printed on what is becoming his trademark medium, aluminum. Jan Davies has her wonderful rodeo photography on display, fresh from a blue ribbon win. Rounding out the Fair photography winners is Kimberly Carroll of Just Imagine Photography, who took home a passel of blue ribbons, and will be sharing some of those beauties. Representing the Art category will be Lucinda Wood and her daughter Sylvia, both winners with their paintings. Alongside the Fair winners will hang many works from Plumas Arts members, ranging from bold oil landscapes to delicate colored pencil still life compostions. |

The Plumas Arts Gallery and office hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11am to 5pm, and Saturday from 11am to 3pm. The show will run through the month of September 2015. Please visit Plumas Arts on the web to see the gallery exhibition schedule for 2015.
